Over 100 high school students were in attendance at the CWWA Conference Students Day from the United States Virgin Islands of St. Thomas and St. Croix. Along with a tour of the display floor, the students listened to a panel of Professionals in the Water, Wastewater, and Solid Waste Industry who have worked in the United States Virgin Islands on various projects. Dr. Miles Beamguard, Senior Design Engineer for Seven Seas Water, described his educational background and how he initially began in the Water Treatment Industry. His presentation focused on his current responsibilities for Seven Seas Water, other careers in the field of Water Treatment, and classes in college which helped give him the educational background to excel in his career. The final portion of his presentation was a description of how these skills were put to use for the engineering, project management, and 92 day construction of the USVI Water and Power Authorities new 1.5 MGD Desalination system for the island of St. Croix.
